On Saturday, Lara Scott from the Fish Radio 95.9 fm, selected Birth Choice as the recipient of her baby shower. She is so sweet and was excited to learn about our ministry. She shared how her pregnancy has given her a passion to help other pregnant women that might not have the support she has been blessed with.

Lara, the mom-to-be, and Kathleen

Kathleen and I attended, along with Lynne Jilot, one of our board members. Jenny, the amazing promotional girl at the Fish, threw quite the shower at Rockwell’s Bakery in Villa Park. Precious women from around Orange County stopped by to meet Lara, hear about Birth Choice and bring much needed baby items. We had a potential nurse volunteer and a birthing educator express interest in volunteering.
During the program Kathleen had the opportunity to share about the work we do and how their donations would go to the young women in our Beginnings parenting classes.

Doesn’t this cake look great? It is fake, Kathleen even stuck her finger in it to see!

The highlight of the shower was a concert by Sarah Kelly. Kathleen and I immediately became fans of this courageous woman with an amazing voice. Her songs are very soulful and personal. She is full of life. You can visit her website at www.sarahkelly.com. She had two friends from back east with her, Nathan and Jessica, who are writing with her for her new album. They are starting a church, Clarity, in Santa Monica in 2010. Their adorable daughter, Novi, was there for everyone to coo over and they shared a song they wrote when she was in the womb.

Ellen, one of our awesome Placentia volunteers, who attended with her daughter Gretchen.

A group shot to end a beautiful day. That is Victoria, our KKLA rep on the left of the Birth Choice sign and Jenny from the Fish on the right. The adorable presents we received will go to our Beginnings Classes.
Kathleen and I left feeling we have been blessed to meet so many amazing people through the work we do at Birth Choice.
